C&A TIMELINE

C&A Tool Original Garage
  • 1969 C&A Tool Opens its doors for the first time in a garage in Churubusco, IN.
  • 1971 Corner building purchased in 1971 with first expansion in 1977, to what is presently known as the Project House.
  • 1984 C&A Tool establishes itself as a company that keeps up with the latest technology by purchasing their first CNC machine, a Mori Seiki Lathe.
  • 1990 The Modern Machine Shop magazine does a cover story on C&A Tool. Earlier that year, the first vertical machining center is purchased.
  • 1991 C&A Tool's workforce surpasses 100 employees
  • 1994 C&A Tool celebrates its 25th anniversary by purchasing a "B" Axis Kellenberger, the first Voumard Grinder and later in the year the diaform dresser for the Kellenberger was installed.
  • 1996 The company's first Index Multispindle is set. 
  • 1998 C&A Tool becomes QS-9000 certified.
  • 1999 A new 110,000 square-foot building is constructed to house C&A’s headquarters, administration offices and many of the the advanced production centers. In March, the first of the Stars were placed in the new building.
  • 2001 C&A Tool enters the medical business and begins to manufacture surgical tools and implants.
  • 2005 C&A Tool featured in Today's Machining World due to their innovative approach to machining.
  • 2007 C&A Tool becomes AS 9100 certified.
  • 2008 Staying up to date with the newest technology, C&A Tool purchases a Laser Sintering machine. The machine fuses metal powder into solid parts by melting it locally with a focused laser beam.
  • 2011 5 axis machining—5.5 ton workpiece capacity DMU 210 FD set at the Central location.
  • 2015 Four Kellenberger Kel-Vista 1000 grinders are set in the Central grinding area.
  • 2016 Along with Moog Space and Defense, C&A Tool made cylinders for the Orion space module. Deep Space Exploration.
  • 2017 C&A Tool is purchased by MinebeaMitsumi and enters a new chapter in the world market place. 
  • 2018 A long-term agreement was made between C&A Tool and GE for valve housings and stem housings for GE LEAP engines. 
  • 2018 C&A Tool's workforce surpasses ~600 employees.
  • 2019 C&A Tool celebrates 50 years in business.
